This was a tragic, horrible accident.  Ms. Martinez was a single mother of four young children. One day at work, she was crossing the street in San Francisco when she was struck down and killed by a moving truck.  According to the San Francisco police report, Ms. Martinez was the primary cause of the accident. There were no witnesses to the accident other than the defendant driver.  But after we hired an accident reconstruction expert and deposed the truck driver, we were able to build a strong case.

Our law firm turned down a $800,000 offer made during a mediation. One of San Francisco's most respected judges told our firm that we would never get more than $800,000 and we were making a "grave mistake" to reject such a large amount.

This case settled prior to trial for $1.7 million dollars in cash.
