thomas V. rolling hills cemetery

$480k

On Mother's Day in 2004, Billie Thomas was visiting his wife's grave at the Rolling Hills Memorial Park Cemetery when he tripped on a hidden sprinkler head and fell. As the photos show below, the sprinkler head was hidden in the overgrown grass.  Note, the photos show the sprinkler head in the down position.  At the time of the accident the sprinkler heads were popped up but not emitting water.

Mr. Thomas severely injured his knee, which required a total knee replacement.  While he was recovering he developed a serious case of deep vein thrombosis, which are blood clots and was hospitalized for 5 days.

This case settled for $480,000 in cash prior to trial.

This case was reported in the San Francisco Chronicle.

This case was also reported in the San Francisco Recorder.
