Fan
v. AC Transit: $100,000
This
was a very tragic accident. Mrs. Shih Fan, age 82, was crossing
the street in El Cerrito when an AC Transit bus struck her down.
She was taken to John Muir Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Mrs.
Fan was survived by her 85 year old husband, who retained
our firm to make a claim against AC Transit. The Fans had
no children. Mr.
Fan was ill with terminal brain cancer at the time of the
accident and moved to China shortly after the accident.
We were instructed to settle this claim as quickly as possible.

We
resolved this case in less than 6 weeks. A much higher recovery
could have been had, but money was not an issue with our client
and a speedy resolution was. Our firm has been dealing with AC Transit
for over 15 years. AC Transit's lead attorney has told us they "respect
our firm" and we credit our reputation for our being able to
resolve this case per our client's explicit instructions.
