This settlement is confidential as required by the defendant car rental company.

John Doe was killed by a drunk driver who had rented a car from the Car Rental Company. The drunk driver had a $15,000 insurance policy.

Not satisfied, we filed suit against the Car Rental Company and discovered that the drunk driver was unlicensed.

We based our claim against the Car Rental Company on a theory of negligent entrustment. This case was fought tooth and nail. Before trial the Car Rental Company offered the Doe family approximately $80,000.

The jury awarded the Doe family $5 million dollars. $2.5 million from Budget and $2.5 million from the drunk driver who was incarcerated and who had little or no assets. With interest, the verdict against Budget was over $3 million dollars.

The Court of Appeal reversed the judgment on a technicality. The case was scheduled to be re-tried in September 2002 when Budget filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Most of Budget's assets and liabilities were then acquired by Cendant Corporation in late 2002. A new trial was set for January 2004.

*This case was settled in January of 2004 for a confidential sum that exceeded 7 figures.

This case was brought to us by Mr. Ponce's nephew, Miguel G., who is seen in the video.

Mr. Ponce was severely injured when he was struck by an AC Transit bus while crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk. The only witness to this case testified that Mr. Ponce "walked into the bus." Mr. Ponce was unable to testify due to his injuries.

By carefully reconstructing this accident, a case of liability was established against AC Transit. The case settled in 1995 for $5 million in cash. We understand that at the time this is the largest settlement AC Transit has ever paid for a single personal injury accident.

This case was reported in the Oakland Tribune.

Our firm has handled many, many cases against AC Transit. We are familiar with all of their rules, regulations and practices. Our reputation for successfully handling cases against AC Transit led to an insurance company hiring our firm in a case against AC Transit. It is the only time that our firm has represented an insurance company.

When you file a personal injury lawsuit, the defendant is entitled to take your deposition. At your deposition, the defense attorney will ask you questions under oath, which you must answer. A court reporter will be taking down all of the questions and answers word for word. After the deposition is over, the court reporter will type up all of the questions and answers into a booklet. Your deposition is critically important because your answers can be used against you in court if your case goes to trial.

This case arises out of an auto accident dated February 16, 2003. Mrs. Schlicker was driving with her daughter on I-580 in the City of Dublin, when a van driving on the other side of the highway lost control and crossed over the median divide and struck Mrs. Schlicker's car head on.

Mrs. Schlicker suffered serious head injuries, a broken back, a broken neck and a fractured knee. Mrs. Schlicker's daughter suffered relatively minor injuries that included a fractured rib.

Our law firm filed suit against the van driver, his employer and the State of California alleging that the State was negligent for not replacing obsolete cable median barriers that allowed the van driver to cross over the median. We also filed suit against numerous contractors who were engaged in highway construction.

This case was featured in the San Francisco Recorder.

This case settled for $6.05 Million Dollars in cash.

No, You Can't Say That In Court

Before you go to court, make sure you know what you can (and cannot) say.

           Make a list

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too.

           Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

           Reward yourself

When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back.

           Think positively

Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.

Here are some reasons to make blogging part of your regular routine.

Blogging is an easy way to engage with site visitors

Writing a blog post is easy once you get the hang of it. Posts don’t need to be long or complicated. Just write about what you know, and do your best to write well.

           Show customers your personality

When you write a blog post, you can really let your personality shine through. This can be a great tool for showing your distinct personality.

Blogging is a terrific form of communication

Blogs are a great communication tool. They tend to be longer than social media posts, which gives you plenty of space for sharing insights, handy tips and more.

It’s a great way to support and boost SEO

Search engines like sites that regularly post fresh content, and a blog is a great way of doing this. With relevant metadata for every post so search engines can find your content.

There is no perfect justice, just as there is no absolute in ethics. But there is perfect injustice, and we know it when we see it.

Take a few moments to plan your post

Once you have a great idea for a post, write the first draft. Some people like to start with the title and then work on the paragraphs. Other people like to start with subtitles and go from there. Choose the method that works for you.

           Don’t forget to add images

Be sure to include a few high-quality images in your blog. Images break up the text and make it more readable. They can also convey emotions or ideas that are hard to put into words.

           Edit carefully before posting

Once you’re happy with the text, put it aside for a day or two, and then re-read it. You’ll probably find a few things you want to add, and a couple more that you want to remove. Have a friend or colleague look it over to make sure there are no mistakes. When your post is error-free, set it up in your blog and publish.
